Story Detail

Reincarnated
by Peter Theuri
Pages: NA
When powerful cabinet minister Hezron Mwandongo gets fired, he faces societal rejection and wallows in poverty. Once seen as a straight politician who was incapable of using treachery to enrich himself, he fakes his own death and uses subsequent donations to relocate to another country. His problems have birthed in him the desire to con people through faking his death, which is a dark, unwanted reincarnation, and the looming belief that he is dead means that the affluent man who has escaped his country is a new person altogether, a different version of Mwandongo, a real life reincarnation of a man who has, using all the tricks he denounced, catapulted himself back to opulence. The story also paints the sad scenario of people honouring the dead in big ways even after having neglected them during their time of need.
