This is a highly professional, polished story of a length
which makes it a very satisfying read. It could easily have been
written by Crichton or Heller: it has a style which hints at the
best of fifties genre short stories. Set in Rockport Massachusetts, it revolves
around the day to day life of Walter Hope and the woman he meets, Connie
West. It has great atmosphere and context. The writing is so clean and lush
in places: ‘Her striking blue eyes, wonderful Cupid’s bow lips which she keeps
moist with a sexy brush of her tongue every now and again’. What more can you
say? Brilliant! Highly recommended.

I found this to be a very entertaining story. I loved the little chapter headings, it reminded me a bit of Stephen King in that respect. It was very well researched and brought to life many memories that I could relate to. I will be humming the Banana Splits theme for a while. The only criticism I would have is that the tenses were muddled in various places and I did feel that certain small connecting words had been missed. However, that is a very small gripe and some careful editing would soon repair that. Overall, it was a very good read, filled with rich detail and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

OK first off I'm pedantic, not OCD, but I do like to see things done correctly. From that point of view, I think this needs a bit of attention to the punctuation, the missing apostrophes and a few grammatical errors. That out the way, it's an engaging story with nicely observed details, that keeps the reader's interest right up to the plot twist at the end. Overall I enjoyed reading this.
