Barry Hind wished to seep into Emma Field's life, like dry rot, but a little more romantic. However, unknowingly she possesses something of even greater value than love: money.

This is a very clever story which combines humour as well as darker motive on the part of the central character.
It's so well written in its grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. These things matter! If they're weak then readers get distracted, and lose track of the story. But back to my review. The way in which the man at the centre of the story ingratiates himself with the other characters, almost entirely with a criminal agenda in mind, made me laugh throughout. It had similarities to 'The Ladykillers', the brilliant Ealing Studios Film, in its pace, humour, and concealed intentions. The lies, the false conversations, as he tries to wriggle his way into a position of trust, just make you think- here's a con artist in full flow. The one expletive in the story is just so funny- it bursts out of the blue from one of the otherwise gentile characters in the story. I'll not spoil it by talking about the twist in the tale, but readers- you're going to really enjoy this one!
