25 years ago in Rwanda, beginning April 7, 1994, a genocide against the Tutsis by Hutu extremists (including a macabre militia called the Interahamwe) began. In a hundred days, they had murdered a million men, women, children and babies (including slashing wombs open). Many of these Hutu genocidaires fled into the DR Congo after the liberation of the country by Paul Kagame's RPF (Rwanda Patriotic Front). But a few, including the still to be captured master supplier of machetes (for the killings), Felicien Kabuga, fled to Kenya in mid-1994 onwards. 'Horton Eats A Hutu' is a short story about a twenty year old lad called Horton who, on his twentieth birthday, runs into a couple of 'Kabugas.'

A good piece of work especially for us Kenyans who are obsessed with toxic politics year in year out. Every Kenyan should read this before the next general election. Keep up the good work.
