Malcolm Twigg’s strengths lie in whimsical science fiction/fantasy with the emphasis distinctly on humour, but with a smattering of more serious stuff. He was second place winner and overall winner (with publication) in the Peter Pook Humorous Novel Contest in consecutive years some years back. In the same year he was a place winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest earning him publication in an anthology and a trip to the States to meet some of the royalty of the science fiction genre. Also in that year he won Piper’s Ash Writer of the Future Competition with a chapbook of work being published as a consequence and has self-published much of his work online on various platforms since no-one else seems to want it. He holds a PGDip in Creative Writing from Plymouth University, was a former Creative Writing teacher for adults for a couple of years and more recently has been editor and writer of a series of Regional lifestyle magazines until retirement. He is currently resting on his laurels and basking in questionable former glory.
