This is a satisfying story which you're drawn in to because of its abstract, atmospheric style. It's neither science fiction nor fantasy but somewhere in between, but this is its success- it's not pigeon-holed work. It engages the reader, makes you think, and in this regard is a successful piece of work. The ending is abrupt but this is obviously intended, and in this way it's thought-provoking. It's a significant rewrite of the first post, and the author's decision to extend the length while maintaining the concise and well-paced style is to be welcomed.

Fun, thoughtful, interesting. Almost Lovecraftian in its implications and an interesting examination of perception from the start.
