Salat loses his wife, a military officer through what is assumed as an accidental shot. Salat has no ability to initiate any investigations owing to his financial inability. He is thrown out of the military house when his father-in-law questions the circumstances that leading to his daughter's death. When her father initiates the investigation as to whether his daughter is accidentally shot or it is planned, it is revealed that Jepkemboi Salat's wife was shot by a colleague. Salat is later compensated as a result of the loss. Salat who has resigned to fate, has now some renewed hope. His dream of giving his children a better life can thus be achieved.
