It's a topical and easy-to read story. I found no typos or major grammatical errors though there are one or two missing commas.
One thing that did throw me a bit was the use of the word 'afore' instead of before. It seemed a little archaic for what is obviously a modern story.
On the whole though, it's good. Well done.
