A fortunate escape

All a bit matter of fact. Short sentences, staccato dialogue. Sorry but I didn't really get anything out of this.

Comprised mostly of dialogue between two people, the author did not follow the *show, don't tell* principle*. There was no anticipation; anything the reader could've wondered, was told directly.
